How to Incorporate Something Blue Into Your Wedding Beauty Look

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something perfect for your makeup kit and a subtle shade of low-key blue?

For my wedding day, I opted to line my eyes with a cobalt NARS long-wear liner topped with a deep navy Tom Ford shadow, so imperceptible in photos you could barely tell that it wasn’t a classic black, except for the softness it hazily imbued. For an equally indigo statement, a swipe of YSL’s cerulean Vinyl Couture Mascara or dab of Pat McGrath Lab’s MotherShip I Subliminal Palette Astral White shadow (which shines as an iridescent blue) can make eyes pop with surprisingly timeless appeal.

For the more traditional bride, color-changing shades may be a more natural fit. Lipstick Queen’s Hello Sailor creation appears to be a navy bullet, but swipes onto lips as a sheer, pretty shade of berry, while Givenchy’s slim Le Rouge Perfecto Beautifying Lip Balm in Blue Pink adjusts to the pH of your skin for a customized color boost. And for the skincare obsessed, a dose of blue tansy in the form of Primally Pure’s Beauty Cream soothes day-of inflammation with a colorless finish, while a trail of Palermo’s dreamy Tranquility Aromatherapy Oil further calms the nerves.

Below, the best ways to incorporate blue into your beauty routine, from power statements to powdery, sophisticated hints.
