Preparing for your little one's arrival means baby-proofing the house, attending doctor appointments, creating your baby registry, and dreaming up the perfect name. But making a beautiful world for your child goes so far beyond this. When curating the life well-lived for baby, it’s worth considering how you’ll celebrate the moments surrounding their arrival and beyond, from the shower to nursery art, birth announcements, and all of the other paper goods in between.
We've already walked you through the paper suite for your wedding. And now, your little one's arrival calls for its own guide. We turned to Minted and their complimentary Concierge service for expert advice and thoughtful tips on crafting a paper suite for all things baby.

Where to Begin
Before you even start to consider the different types of items you'll need and when to order and mail them, it's helpful to first think about a cohesive theme for your entire baby shower suite, which will make designing every paper item from here on out more streamlined. Deciding upon a theme like Minted's "Silly Goose" or "Bonjour, Bébé" turns the rest of the design process into a seamless and universal journey. (We're partial to the "Over The Moon" theme, of course!) Still can't decide between all of the darling motifs and winsome styles for your baby shower and beyond? Chrissy Morford, General Manager of Everyday Living at Minted, advises parents-to-be to begin by thinking about who they are and their own sensibilities. She says, "That might be a punny theme tied to their location, or designs that speak to how they envision parenthood unfolding. Are they adventurers who see road trips and outdoor exploration in their future? Do they imagine cozy reading time with their little one? Is travel central to their story? Let that vision guide the design." From there, turn to Minted's assortment. She adds, "Pair that with thoughtful details—clean typography, a cohesive color story, beautiful pattern from toile to block print, or maybe a fun novelty shape such as bow, seashell or butterfly that ties to the theme. Even small touches like pairing the invitation with matching insert cards, for things like registry info or book requests, make it feel memorable."

Emerging Trends
We asked the Minted Concierge team if they've observed any overall changes when creating these stationery suites with new parents lately. "We're seeing a rise in novelty-shaped stationery, with die-cut enclosure cards in playful silhouettes like daisies, lemons, cowboy boots, and seashells that instantly communicate the theme before guests arrive," they share. "These unexpected details add personality and make the invitation feel like part of the celebration itself." Beyond invitations, stationery is generally becoming more interactive. They add, "Hosts are also incorporating enclosure cards for guests to share parenting advice, write wishes for the baby, share favorite family traditions, or scan a QR code to upload photos from the shower to a shared album." Lastly, Morford also notes that personalization with stationery has become more and more popular. She mentions, "Parents are much more involved in the creative direction, choosing colors, artwork, and wording that reflect their own style rather than following traditional expectations. As a result, celebrations feel less formulaic and more reflective of the family being celebrated."

The Baby Shower Invitation and Insert Cards
Send invitations eight weeks prior
Let the invitation suite be a reflection of you. The Minted Concierge team notes, "Because more baby showers today are being planned by friends, siblings, and peers—not just grandmothers or their circle of friends—celebrations tend to reflect the parents' personal aesthetic. They often feel more contemporary, design-conscious, and tailored to the mother-to-be than previous generations." Every invitation should include the key details, like the honoree, host, date, time, location, RSVP details, and any registry information. "But the best invitations also help set expectations for the experience," the Minted Concierge Team expertly advises. This can be done with the design but also with any insert cards. Use these to include registry details, book requests, diaper raffles, or game and activity cards. These enclosure cards also provide a natural place for further details without overcrowding the invitation itself. "If you're hosting a garden luncheon, a coastal cocktail-style shower or asking guests to wear a particular dress code, including those details allows everyone to arrive feeling prepared," the Minted Concierge team continues. "Likewise, if you're building baby's library, collecting handwritten advice, requesting unwrapped gifts for display or inviting guests to contribute toward a meaningful fund, those details can be incorporated gracefully into the suite through enclosure cards or tasteful wording." But the guest experience extends beyond the design itself. Minted's complimentary recipient addressing, for example, creates a polished first impression while saving hosts countless hours. Minted also offers an address collection tool that makes gathering and organizing guest addresses seamless, allowing hosts to spend less time on logistics and more time on the event itself. The Baby Sprinkle
Send invitations approximately eight weeks prior
Usually hosted for the arrival of a second or third child, the baby sprinkle is becoming a more popular way to celebrate more intimately. Overall, Minted has seen greater flexibility in the milestones parents-to-be celebrate. Morford explains, "Some families host a traditional baby shower, others gather for a sprinkle, a co-ed celebration or a 'sip and see' after the baby arrives. The stationery has evolved alongside those traditions, offering designs and formats that feel equally at home at an intimate garden lunch as they do at a larger family celebration."

Day-Of Paperie
Order about four to six weeks before the event
"One of the biggest shifts we're seeing is that hosts are treating stationery as part of the overall event design—not just something that lives in the mailbox," the Minted Concierge Team explains. "They're creating a cohesive visual identity that carries from the invitation through welcome signs, tabletop stationery, menus, favor tags, game and activity cards, stickers, making the entire celebration feel more thoughtful and immersive."

Thank You Cards
Send within two to four weeks after the shower
The last thing a parent-to-be wants is a deadline, but modern etiquette recommends sending your shower thank you cards within a month, at most, from your baby shower. Minted recommends ordering yours along with any day-of paper goods, so they're ready when you are.

Nursery Art
Consider during the second trimester
Creating a cohesive suite extends beyond the mailbox. Minted even offers prints for your little one's nursery. "If time allows, it's wonderful to begin planning the nursery during the second trimester or early in the third trimester," Morford says. "Having a vision before the baby arrives allows you to make thoughtful decisions without feeling rushed during the newborn stage. That said, the nursery doesn't have to be perfectly finished on day one. Some of the most beautiful spaces evolve over time as families settle into new routines and discover what works best for their home." Regardless, she recommends buying only what you love. "The most timeless nurseries feel like a natural extension of the rest of your home, so pull inspiration from the colors, artwork, and textures you're already drawn to, then layer in nursery pieces that complement rather than compete," she continues. "If you want art that truly grows with your child, consider pieces that aren't nursery-specific at all—soft botanicals, coastal landscapes, or abstract art you'd happily hang anywhere in your home. That said, there's always room for something personal: a customized print with your baby's name makes a sweet keepsake they'll treasure long after the nursery is gone."

Baby Stationery
Order when you’re ready, before or after baby's arrival
At Over The Moon, we firmly believe in the value of a good monogram and subscribe to Reese Witherspoon's school of thought on this: "If it's not moving, monogram it!" Once you have your little one's name selected, personalize and customize anything you can, especially their baby stationery suite. These are personalized note cards you can use to send heartfelt thank-yous, stay in touch with loved ones, and celebrate the many milestones of early parenthood. While you can order this whenever, Minted suggests getting your suite before the baby arrives (as long as you’ve picked out a name) so it's one less thing to think about. Also, you'll be able to use it right away.Create Your Entire Stationery Suite with Minted’s Concierge
