A "Dream Suspended in Sunlight" Wedding at Villa Cimbrone

After overcast weather forced Alec Pratt to deviate from his proposal plan on the Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica, he pivoted to an intimate ask after a candlelit meal. He and Lisa Chan had just ordered espresso martinis when Alec spoke from the heart and lowered to one knee. "Moments later, the chef returned with Champagne in place of the elusive martini, just in time for Alec to softly remind me that I had yet to give him an answer," Lisa recalls. "Through my happy sobs came the most certain 'Yes!'—a promise that turned a beautiful trip into the memory of a lifetime."

The week after getting engaged, Lisa—who had been living in California and doing long-distance with Alec in London—made her move across the pond. Together, they began planning their spring wedding at Villa Cimbrone in Ravello, Italy, with Eventoile. "The color palette—blush, lavender, sage, and ivory—captured the feeling of a dream suspended in sunlight," Lisa explains.

Cartalia Stationery Studio set the tone with an intricate invitation suite in those shades, and photographer Julia Kaptelova captured the weekend as it came to life.

On May 17, 2025, glam artist Alessandro Mancino and his team got ready with Lisa, who then slipped into her Galia Lahav dress before walking down the alfresco aisle. Bridesmaids matched in lavender Maria Lucia Hohan looks.

After exchanging heartfelt vows and being announced as officially married, the newlyweds joined their loved ones in the storied crypt, decorated with sprawling florals by Maria Starace. Once everyone was seated, dinner by the Michelin-starred team behind Il Flauto di Pan was served, paired with wines inspired by Lisa's California roots.

Finally, guests moved to the gardens to dance on a mirrored floor. The couple shared a first dance to "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing." "The first dance stands out as the most unforgettable moment—those few minutes when time seemed to stand still, the music swelled, and the fireworks illuminated the night sky in a radiant reflection of everything they felt," Lisa remembers. Under a sky lit just for them, a long-distance love finally found its forever address on the Amalfi Coast.
