We created our wedding invites with Michaela at Michaela McBride Calligraphy and she was a dream to work with! She understood immediately my “pastel dreams” vision for the wedding and helped me finalize every single little detail, from the vintage paper to the exact shade of light pink for the ribbons. I think we exchanged over 100 emails just for the invites. It was well worth the effort since these invites really set the tone for the wedding!

Here we are happy as clams heading into our welcome party. I wore a yellow Markarian dress, and Andrew had this light blue linen suit custom made from Knot Standard. My white Oscar de la Renta earrings and white silk clutch were picked out by my stylist Anny Choi, who has such an amazing eye for detail!

A picture with every guest with the Ravello view in the background. These incredible people made their way from New York, San Francisco, Houston, Boston, Stockholm and London to celebrate us. The summer of 2022 was a crazy travel season and they experienced a lot of flight delays and lost luggages, but they all graciously and excitedly made the trip, which meant the world to us. I smile every time I look at this picture.

Right before the rehearsal dinner, we hosted an intimate Chinese tea ceremony. My parents don’t speak English, so I wanted to create a moment that’s entirely Chinese. I loved how the decor turned out: it had the traditional all-red Chinese look, but the flowers in the background and the Amalfi coast tiles still reflected the “pastel dreams” theme.

One of the most emotional moments of the three-day weekend. During the height of Covid, my parents moved mountains to come to our wedding from China—five canceled flights and one last-minute overnight train. I was so grateful they were able to make it to our wedding.

My parents-in-law, Michael and Michelle Mauboussin, who I adore and respect so much. I was so happy that I got to show my love and gratitude to them in a traditional Chinese ceremony. They gifted me a Cartier love bracelet, which is so fitting as gifting gold bangles during the tea ceremony is a tradition, and the love bracelet symbolizes the permanence of love so perfectly. Pretty sure here Michelle joked: “You better never take it off!”

I wore a Chinese traditional Qipao and sparkly heels from Jimmy Choo. The Qipao was from Etsy and the easiest outfit pick of the 3-day weekend.

For our white party rehearsal dinner, we had all the guests wear white and I wore a multi-layered white gown dotted with pastel florals and with a layer of lace underneath. I actually had a lot of trouble picking out a good dress for this event, until Anny introduced me to Patricia Voto at One/Of, who was so amazing to work with. My earrings were from Andrew’s great-great grandmother, gifted to me from Andrew’s mom the Christmas after we got engaged. They complemented the blue flowers on my dress so well. I loved wearing this outfit!

A moment of quiet happiness by ourselves before the rehearsal dinner started! Andrew wore another beige linen suit from Loro Piana and loafers from Brunello Cucinelli. I loved how the train of my dress looked!

My mother-in-law helped me create the rehearsal dinner tablescapes alongside my planner Laura and florist Angelica. She used almond bags to place seating cards, which is a nod to their French heritage. She also sourced these beautiful rattan chargers which complemented the aesthetic of the restaurant so well.

Our rehearsal dinner was hosted at Hotel Santa Caterina and I will never forget the moment I took the elevator down and saw how the entire property was built into these dramatic cliffs. Such a stunning place.

Getting ready with my bridesmaids in the morning brought me so much happiness and peace. I thought I would be nervous but in fact I had never been more calm than I was on this day. Here I gifted my bridesmaids floral silk robes from Jenny Yoo, in the same color scheme as their bridesmaid dresses.

My Monique Lhuillier “Alexandra” gown! It was one of the first dresses I tried on, and I couldn’t get it out of my head even after visiting 15 more bridal salons! My veil was custom made from Monvieve, which looks magnificent here under the arches of Villa Cimbrone.

My photographer, David Bastianoni, said to me, “Run like one of those girls in the Monique Lhuillier videos!” Hence the picture, one of my favorite portraits. I love how sheer my gown looked under the sun!

Me and my bridesmaids! I chose a “soft pastel” color palette, but I also wanted my bridesmaids to choose dresses that best represent them and can be reworn for other occasions. They ended up wearing different shades of soft pink, mauve and purple colors and with varying textures, such as silk, sequin, and lace. They all looked so stunning and I loved how they all looked together!

This is a view I will never forget! Our florist, Flower Addicted Angelica, did an amazing job with the ceremony setup. We used shades of pale pink, powder blue, dreamy lavender and light yellow to create an enchanted look. I loved how there were so many shades of colors but the overall effect was still soft and elegant.

My dad is usually very serious and rarely smiles, so it makes me so happy to look back and see the smile on his face! He walked me down the aisle to the string quartet playing Love Theme by Ennio Morricone, from the movie Cinema Paradiso. To me, the music symbolizes the bittersweet feeling of leaving home to unchartered territories, something one must do and yet often at great cost. It always reminds me of how I had to leave home at 18 to go to college in the states by myself. It felt particularly meaningful as my dad walked me down the aisle and put my hands into Andrew’s hands. I was so happy to marry Andrew, but also felt a bit sad that I was about to leave my parents and form my own family.

Surrounded by our favorite people on earth, in the most beautiful setting. We invited our close friends to do 2 readings: I Carry Your Heart With Me By E.E. Cummings and All I Know about Love by Neil Gaiman. Diane from Blessings from Italy was our officiant; she did an amazing job telling our love story and was such a calming presence.

I almost couldn’t put the wedding band on because my fingers were so swollen from the heat—it was over 90 degrees that day and super humid—and we both burst out laughing. It was an unforgettable ceremony filled with happy tears and laughter!

I wanted our wedding to reflect the union of two cultures, and added a Jiao Bei Jiu ritual during the actual wedding ceremony. Jiao Bei Jiu is a Chinese tradition - the couple symbolizes their love for each other by linking their arms to drink to their future happiness. The word for wine in Chinese, “Jiu”, sounds the same as the word for “forever”.

After the ceremony ended, we exited to an instrumental rendition of “A Sky Full of Stars” by Coldplay. I’ll never forget the sheer amount of joy I felt in that moment!

The infinity terrace was one of the biggest reasons we chose Villa Cimbrone and I absolutely love how these post-ceremony portraits turned out! The sky turned a little cloudy after the ceremony that day which added to the atmosphere.

From Neil Gaiman’s poem our friend Nicole read at the ceremony: “And because in the darkness / you will reach out a hand / not knowing for certain if someone else is even there / And your hands will meet / and then neither of you will ever need to be alone again.”

This dress, this veil, and this view! Exactly how I imagined this moment. I could wear my Monvieve veil all night long! I loved how it photographed. Alison Miller, the owner and lead designer of Monvieve, was incredible. They made a mistake with my veil two weeks before I left for the wedding, so Alison had the team work overtime to make a new one, and had someone hand deliver the correct veil to me in Ravello.

Sea, cliff, infinity terrace, with the love of my life and now my husband! This reminds me of how we got engaged over another sea cliff view at Big Sur one-and-a-half years ago. This picture sums up so much and feels full circle. I have framed it on my bedside table.

My planner, Laura Frappa, truly has the best eye for design and is a perfectionist. I was happy with any ceramic tiles but she insisted that we used softer colors to complement the color palette of the wedding, and even hand drew all the colors herself. They came out so much better! Our guests loved being able to take home a little piece of Amalfi Coast with them.

For our reception, I changed into an Eisen Stein gown with feather and beading details that is lightweight and super easy to move in, and paired with Aquazzura heels. Andrew changed into a black Loro Piana tuxedo.

We actually took these photos during a pre-wedding portrait session in Positano a day before the wedding festivities started. Highly recommend this since it took away some pressure to photograph different outfits on the wedding day!

One of my favorite portraits of the two of us, taken at Il San Pietro di Positano. We later stayed here on our honeymoon and it became our favorite hotel in the world. Full circle!

I had high expectations, but the ancient crypt of Villa Cimbrone took my breath away. When I first saw this, I screamed and gave our planner Laura a big, big hug. She and my florist Angelica knocked it out of the park! The block printed tablecloth was custom made in a soft pastel blue color, which complemented the colors of the florals so well!

All I can say is that although I’d seen thousands of pictures of weddings photographed here, in person the crypt looked even more magical. The mountains afar looked like they were from a painting.

The reception tablescapes. I really debated whether to upgrade to crystal cut glasses and lace style chargers, and was so glad we did. In person these little details brought the table setting to a different level! The napkins were also custom made in the same pattern as the tablecloth and pulled everything together. I just love these soft blues!

Our reception had a lot of round tables surrounding a long table at the center of the crypt. This created a focal point while allowing us to play with different color palettes and floral arrangements. The use of orange and red at the round reception tables added a few pops of color which was so lovely.

My mom delivered a heartfelt speech that will forever be in our hearts. She gave her speech in Chinese, and my dear friend Judy Zhou, who used to be a professional translator, interpreted on the side. My mom talked about how she felt when I had to leave her and my dad to study abroad at the age of 18, and the kind of person she’d like me to be in my marriage and my career. It was powerfully delivered, and beautifully translated by Judy, which was no small task since my mom cited a lot of traditional Chinese poems!
