Daryanne Ayotte and Montreal Canadiens Goaltender Samuel Montembeault first met at a small-town festival. "Samuel worked hard to convince me to go on a date, and after about a year of seeing each other, we officially became a couple," she reveals. Fast-forward seven years, and Samuel proposed on the beach, surrounded by white roses and candlelight.
Once engaged, the two set the date for August 16, 2025, at the Four Seasons Hôtel Montréal. "I immediately fell in love with the natural light—it completely won me over," Daryanne admits. To help bring their vision to life, the couple enlisted the help of Crème Soda Événements with Kerstin Hahn Photography capturing every moment.
Daryanne's dress from Superior Bridal’s private label was the first-ever wedding design she tried on. And once that was set, she jet off to NYC solo to find her reception look. Anthropologie had her ideal two-piece set.
To wait for Daryanne at the altar, Samuel wore a custom black tuxedo with portraits of his two grandmothers sweetly sewn into the lining.
On the summer day, guests adhered to the all-black dress code and witnessed Daryanne and Samuel's wedding ceremony, officiated by Phil Roy. "Our beloved French bulldogs, Gucci and Gigi, were also part of the ceremony," Daryanne smiles. "They charmed everyone, even snoring softly during the vows, which made the moment all the more memorable."
The reception began with a bang. “Jubel” by Klingande was played live with a saxophonist, instantly set the tone and filled the dance floor with energy.
Dinner was a true culinary experience and concluded with a vanilla cookie and caramel buttercream wedding cake.
Then the couple shared a first dance to "In Case You Didn’t Know" by Brett Young. "My favorite part of the reception was seeing all the people I love gathered in the same room for us, to celebrate us," Daryanne recalls. "It filled my heart with joy and love. I couldn’t have been happier."
