Jazmine Franco and Robert Platek met while attending Georgetown University, where their shared academic world gradually turned personal . . . and then romantic. After graduating, Rob moved to Arlington, Virginia, with Jazmine joining him months later. A few years on, they relocated to New York City, where Rob proposed on his birthday during a walk through Riverside Park, their dog Ollie in tow.
When it came time to plan their wedding, a road trip through Napa and Sonoma led them to The Madrona in Healdsburg, a historic property whose Victorian architecture and layered interiors immediately appealed to Jazmine’s love of vintage design. “We wanted a venue that felt unique, warm, and private,” she explains. “The bold decor, lovely staff, and delicious food and wine were a plus.”
The weekend was photographed by Ali Beck, who captured the wedding with an editorial sensibility that mirrored the couple’s understated approach. Planning and design were led by Over The Moon Directory Planner Ashley Smith Events, whose ability to navigate both logistics and layered aesthetics proved essential, particularly given the venue’s sloped lawn and the couple’s large guest count.
For a church ceremony earlier in the weekend, Jazmine wore the Over The Moon Exclusive Allison Dress by Lesea Berry styled with a custom veil created by her bridal tailor. She later donned a classic Vivienne Westwood silhouette paired with pleated Manolo Blahnik heels and a Danielle Frankel tulle veil on the big day. Her jewelry was custom-designed by Landsberg Jewelers, featuring emerald-cut diamond studs and blue sapphire accents. Beauty for the weekend was handled by Raven Reed Makeup and AML Makeup, who kept Jazmine’s look natural and unfussy, allowing the fashion and setting to lead.
The ceremony took place on June 14, 2025, beneath a floral installation by Hart Floral. Jazmine walked down the aisle accompanied by both parents to a string arrangement of “Liz on Top” from Pride and Prejudice. “I wanted it to feel whimsical, meadowlike, and effortless,” Jazmine shares of the floral direction.
The reception unfolded beneath a fully custom tent—designed in collaboration between Ashley Smith Events and Rob’s mother—that transformed the sloped lawn into an elegant dining space. "I truly still wake up in disbelief that Ashley and her teams were able to make so much beauty happen," the bride shares. Vintage-style silverware and glassware were layered with blue-and-white plates, echoing the couple’s French chinoiserie inspiration. Paper goods by Over The Moon The List Illustrator Cheree Berry Paper added a refined, graphic counterpoint to the tablescape, while a live string performance by Bellarosa String Quartet transitioned seamlessly into dancing later in the evening.
Dinner was followed by heartfelt toasts from all four parents, the maid of honor, and best man. The couple shared their first dance to “If I Have to Say I Love You in a Song” by Jim Croce—a moment Jazmine had been anticipating all evening. “Once we did it, it felt amazing,” she recalls. “Not only did we do it—I think we did really well.”
Music carried the celebration well into the night, with entertainment by Dart Collective’s White Noise keeping the dance floor active even during dinner service. “From the moment the band started playing, the dance floor was crowded,” Jazmine notes. Catering and cake were provided by Butter&, whose menus balanced elegance with comfort. The after-party moved indoors, where different rooms of the mansion were styled for dancing, late-night food, and quieter conversation, allowing guests to move fluidly throughout the space.
The evening unfolded with ease, balancing thoughtful design with a sense of warmth that carried from the ceremony through the final hours of the night. After their Napa Valley weekend, they continued on to an active honeymoon starting at Amangiri, followed by an unhurried stay at Amanyara in Turks and Caicos.
