This was the view that enveloped us the entire wedding weekend in the Alps! We spent many moments just staring speechlessly at this backdrop, in total awe of its beauty, changing from clouds to sun to fog.

Justin’s wedding band is a match for my engagement ring, but I opted for the “non-matching” Étincelle wedding band in pink gold as something just for me! Most days I like to wear just the Étincelle (frankly would have gotten it even without the marriage…).

The day before the wedding, we took these gondolas down to Mer de Glace, the heart of the ice cave. The glacier’s been shrinking over time due to climate change, and we felt so fortunate to be able to still visit it.

I was mentally prepared for my walk down the aisle to be either on uneven gravel or mud(!), and these heels were elegant AND sturdy. The scent Le Long Fond is my signature scent—I have it on me most days, and this day was no exception.

Very foggy on the morning of our wedding. Some friends ventured out on a hike, as the rest of us did a morning yoga class on the balcony.

I wanted our wedding favor to be an unboxing moment that felt special. We assembled some of our favorite things as a token for everyone to remember this cozy retreat in the Alps, including a custom-made Chamonix herringbone blanket and Mont Blanc shaped chocolates from a local chocolatier.

A welcome note from us left with the gift boxes in guest rooms when everyone arrived for the weekend. I love how all the texture turned out.

Our alpine hotel was accessible only by this little red train during the day, and by late afternoon, all the visitors and hikers had gone, and we had the whole mountain and hotel to ourselves, which felt very intimate and serene.

Justin seen here on his way to the panoramic with David, our good friend, who was officiating our wedding.

We didn’t have groomsmen or bridesmaids, but if we did, this would be the "glam shot" for Justin and his best men.

Boys will be boys. I love seeing Justin light up whenever he is with his best pals from school or his favorite ski buddies.

The journey to the altar. I had a lift from the hotel golf cart, but my dad walked right behind the cart the whole 10 minutes. As we took the last steps together to the altar, he would repeatedly tell me to slow my pace.

I walked down the aisle to a plainly sung version of “Somewhere Only We Know,” performed by the artist Lembe Lokk and her string trio. The lyrics captured the fragility and beauty of this otherworldly place we were all in that moment.

Even with the likelihood (and reality) of rain, I never truly considered any plan B besides the panoramic. Moments before I walked out, Justin and David made the executive decision to take away the parasols—a tough decision to choose the scenery over getting our guests wet. Something you can get away with when it’s your 40 best friends and family!

During my vows, we all heard an audible crack—the sound of a glacier breaking. It was surreal.

I started writing my vows weeks prior, and here, Justin triumphantly and confidently read from his, written with all his heart mere hours ago.

Right after I dos!

I look back at this moment with so much joy as the epitome of being surrounded by our favorite people.

The aftermath. Right after getting married, the crowd dashed inside to the cocktail reception to dry themselves off from the rain and get warm!

An instant classic featuring all my dearest boys.

Both sides of easy going parents.

Sitting on the little red train, you feel like you’re passing through the clouds to reveal the sky above or the picturesque town of Chamonix beneath.

My mom put a lot of thinking into the tea ceremony tradition, including the red dragon and phoenix detail on the pillows. The Western ceremony had made her laugh, but this part had made her cry.

As newlyweds, we’d serve a cup of tea to each set of our parents as gratitude and in exchange for their blessings. Though unfamiliar with these traditions myself, I recognized the meaning was poignant and how much it mattered to my parents.

My sister is not much older than me, but as my primary caretaker growing up, Agnes was more than deserving of a cup of hot tea on this chilly day!

I’ll admit it looks like we stood in front of a green screen and photoshopped a backdrop.

I tried to suck it up, but I clutched onto the blanket whenever I could in-between shots.

My idea for hair and makeup was laid back, natural, and I thought I could do it myself. My planner gently talked me out of it.

That moment when you (or your girlfriends) realize “You didn’t spend all this energy on a wedding gown only to be bundled up in a blanket, okay?”

My dears. All wonderfully independent, willful, and laugh-out-loud funny.

I love how this shot captures the silhouette of the dress with its delicate floral detail and the gorgeous sleeves!

At the tail end of our photo duty after almost two hours. We could not wait to rejoin the crew and hang out.

A lucky girl to have these two by my side taking such good care of me. Leticia was our fashionable planner and mastermind and is now a dear friend!

The dining room at the venue was completely transformed from a rustic Alpine lodge to this absolutely gorgeous cocoon of fine linens, floral installations, candlelight, and a play on textures. Our guests could not believe that it was the same space where they had a traditional fondue dinner the night before!

We loved our minimalist stationery and chose to prioritize texture and color with modern typography.

This is our sweetheart table! Our guest list was so small and intimate that we did not want any hurt feelings or bruised egos about who we chose to sit with...besides, how could we possibly decide, everyone there was so special to us! Having two long tables made the most sense with the size and shape of the room, and with our own table for two, we could see everyone and they could all see us. It felt very special.

I love cake! This was one of the only traditional wedding details that I DID want to include! We chose a granite-style cake, harking to the rugged terrain and history of mining in Chamonix. We also included sugar flower petal details inspired from the embroidery on my dress mixed with dried foliage. And the flavor? Apricot cloud.

We can always count on our friends for a good laugh. They kept their speeches short, sweet, and full of good humor that everyone could get in on.
39 of 45
Doesn't everybody look so cozy and happy? Exactly what we wanted. In this picture, we had just gotten up to cut the cake, so everyone is cheering us on.

Our first dance was played live by a string quartet with vocals. We chose the Frank Ocean cover of "Moon River."
41 of 45
"Moon River" is a song we love and easy to sway to...neither of us are big dancers. We even debated not doing a first dance! But looking back, we're so glad that we did. Because once we were in the moment, it was truly special.

Rather than a guest book, we asked our guests to write their well wishes on paper lanterns to be sent up towards the heavens. Of course, we chose 100% biodegradable lanterns without wire.
43 of 45
We did get a sneak peak at a few of them before sending them off. Lighting them and actually getting them up and away became a team-building sport with some serious laughs.
44 of 45
And each lantern that took off seemed so special and celebratory.

Watching them float away in the night sky was a spell-binding moment—a peaceful end to wondrous day allowing us to reflect on all that had just transpired, like a dream.
