In began in the DMs. “Funny enough, Yinka and I worked at the same hospital for a while but never crossed paths,” Jummy Falaye says of her future-husband. At the time, Yinka Falaye barely used social media—his profile had only a few followers and a single photo—but a mutual friend eventually led Jummy to his page. A few messages later, Yinka asked her out on a date.
The outing was a success and just three months later, Yinka planned a proposal that felt as romantic as their whirlwind beginning. During a trip to Santorini, he arranged for a private villa overlooking the sea to be transformed with fresh roses and rose petals, a saxophonist playing nearby, and a photographer capturing the moment as the sun began to set. Though Jummy’s custom engagement ring wasn’t ready yet, Yinka proposed with a simple wedding band instead. A few weeks later, once the ring was complete, he recreated the magic with a second proposal in Houston. “I feel so blessed to have had not one, but two proposals,” Jummy beams.
When it came time to plan their wedding, Jummy knew she wanted a destination celebration in Italy. With the help of Over The Moon The List Planner Exclusive Italy Weddings, the couple ultimately chose Over The Moon Directory Venue Villa Cimbrone on the Amalfi Coast for their June 23, 2025, celebration. “I always knew I wanted something romantic and surrounded by water,” Jummy shares. The venue offered the perfect setting for the weekend they envisioned, which began with a boat day along the Amalfi Coast before transitioning into a relaxed Italian dinner party to welcome guests.
For the wedding day itself, Jummy worked with her stylist, The Wardrobe Manager, and dress concierge The Attire Affair—who even hand-delivered her wardrobe from Kosovo to Italy. After searching extensively for the right look, she ultimately decided on a bespoke dress. Her journey included appointments in Dallas, Chicago, Nigeria, Istanbul, and Kosovo before she discovered designer AIAH Mariage in Pristina. “They sketched out my dream gown, and I knew instantly it was perfect,” she recalls.
For the ceremony in the gardens of the villa, Jummy wore the custom AIAH gown with diamonds and pearls from Diamonds Direct in Houston. Her beauty look, created by hairstylist Ester Tutu and makeup artist Arike Glamzs—whom she flew in from Canada and Nigeria, respectively—featured a sleek low bun and soft glam makeup designed to enhance her natural features.
The ceremony unfolded on a sunny afternoon beneath lush greenery. Jummy made her entrance down a garden staircase before being escorted down the aisle by her two brothers, who led her to her father. As a string quartet from 4Strings Italy played, her father placed her hand in Yinka’s. The ceremony was officiated by Jummy’s childhood pastor, who has been part of her life for more than 30 years. When it came time to exchange vows, the moment became unexpectedly emotional. “I didn’t expect to cry,” Jummy says, “but the weight of the moment—marrying my best friend—was overwhelming in the most beautiful way.”
Following the ceremony, guests gathered for a reception that combined Italian cuisine with lively celebration. Stanley Babb of Stanlo Photography documented the celebration, with videographer Giulio Cantarella capturing the weekend in motion. Later in the evening, Jummy changed into a hand-beaded reception dress by Mimoza Kadriaj—a designer she had admired for years—before joining Yinka on the dance floor.
After some heartfelt toasts, the energy shifted as the DJ and emcee encouraged guests to dance late into the night. For Jummy, the best part of the evening was finally being able to celebrate with everyone who had traveled to Italy for the occasion. “It was my chance to fully let loose—dancing, having a drink, and sharing that joy with our family and friends,” she says.
Even after the reception ended, the celebration continued. Rather than calling it a night, the newlyweds and their guests headed into the Amalfi city center, where they spent the late hours talking, laughing, and reliving the day together.
