Justine Sbarra and Sandy Lopez were married on June 7, 2025, in wine country, a setting that reflected both their shared love of California and their instinct for choosing places that feel meaningful to them. After several visits to the region, they found themselves repeatedly drawn back to Montage Healdsburg, ultimately choosing it as the site where they would gather family and friends to celebrate their marriage.
The weekend unfolded with intention and faith—particularly in their collaboration with planner MaKela Allen, owner of Andre Makena, who translated the couple’s sensibility into a design that felt elevated, personal, and warm. "When it came to the aesthetic, we’ll be the first to admit neither of us had a big Pinterest board or a clear vision for how we wanted everything to look," Justine shares. "But what we did have was complete trust in our wedding planner. They created a vision that was breathtakingly beautiful and, most importantly, felt like us." From the sculptural florals and draped dance floor to the layered linens and textured paper goods, every detail felt considered without ever tipping into excess.
The ceremony itself took place beneath a sweeping oak tree on the property, transformed by Larry Walshe into an immersive floral installation that felt intimate despite its scale. “What unfolded was an intimate ceremony with just our closest family, and it couldn’t have felt more true to me and Sandy,” Justine explains. Surrounded by those nearest to them, the moment felt quiet, raw, and deeply personal.
Justine wore the Natta dress by Mira Zwillinger, an A-line silhouette in silk organza adorned with soft floral detailing and shaped with a square neckline. “It felt both timeless and bold,” she says. Sandy chose the Phoebe by Elizabeth Fillmore—a sleek, slip-style look with an open back that felt effortlessly elegant. Beauty for the day was led by Stefanie Fritz with hair by Shea Styles, allowing both brides to feel polished while remaining entirely themselves.
The morning-of, the brides exchanged meaningful gifts. Justine wore a tennis necklace Sandy gave her, while Sandy wore a matching tennis bracelet from Justine. The most sentimental piece, however, came from Justine’s sister and aunt—a coordinated set designed specifically for the two of them. “Justine received a bracelet, and I received a matching back necklace,” Sandy shares. “It was the most unique accessory. I loved that we matched in such a subtle way.”
With the help of Flowers by Edgar, the reception revealed drapery suspended above the dance floor. Stationery by Ceci New York anchored the tablescape with textured, beautifully crafted menus. For their first dance, Justine and Sandy chose “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone. One of the evening’s most memorable moments came shortly after, as the band—The A-List from Downbeat Agency—filled the dance floor and carried the energy late into the night. “There was a moment when I lifted Justine and spun her,” Sandy recalls. “She was smiling so big, and everyone was cheering. I remember thinking I’ll remember this feeling for the rest of my life.”
The celebration continued with an after-party affectionately named after their golden retriever, Lincoln. With an espresso martini bar and a glowing neon sign bearing his name, the space felt allowed for a more playful energy to take hold of the night. DJ sets by YAGIRLASH of Elan Artists kept the dance floor packed well into the night, closing out the weekend on a note that felt unmistakably them.
Looking ahead, the couple plans to honeymoon in Bora Bora this year—already dreaming of overwater bungalows and a slower pace.
