Our invitations, designed with Bat Flower Press, set the tone for the weekend. We wanted to bring in natural, artful elements and created this box-like envelope made from rice paper, wood grain, and pressed flowers. The rest of the suite was created with handmade papers from unique fibers and natural dyes. Each piece is a work of art on its own—Natalia blind-embossed a wood grain texture on one of the cards, while others were hand-painted with her natural dyes, or had pressed flowers to tie back to the engagement ring Josh made me.

A moment of stillness with Josh before greeting our guests at our Thursday night Fiesta de Bienvenida. Sticking with the theme, we leaned into bolder colors. I found this beautiful silk Christopher Esber set a week before, and Josh wore a blue linen Boglioli suit look.

Our welcome tote for guests, including an itinerary for the weekend with local recommendations, designed as a coloring book on the front and back, and complete with crayon rocks. The crayon rocks and coloring books are typically used for kids, but we wanted to encourage the creative and youthful side of all our guests. Also included are some of our favorite snacks, including Elements chocolates, dried mango, salted popcorn, local granola, and boxed water.

Overwhelmed with emotion in conversation with my Mom. Josh and I wanted to pay homage to my Mexican heritage, and, since all my family from Mexico had traveled in early, we dedicated Thursday night to my late Grandma Elvira, who was always Josh’s number 1 fan, even before the rest of my family knew we were dating.

I’m obsessed with this dress! I knew I wanted to incorporate color all weekend, and when I saw this dress it felt so joyful and majestic, I knew it was the one. The colors are stunning and remind me of a painting I could stare at for hours. As soon as I slipped it on I felt like a queen. Josh wore a cream double-breasted Thom Sweeney look.

The speeches on Friday had us between tears and laughter. My friend, Chloe, started it off, charting through Josh and I’s journey over the past 15 years as our relationship grew through losing my best friend Andrew and starting my business. Andrew was the one who inspired me to follow my dream and create AGMES, his namesake (AGMES is a combination of his and my initials). As Chloe put it, Josh has continued that role as my best friend, sounding board, and shoulder to lean on. And Seth, Josh’s youngest brother and aspiring stand-up comedian, had us bellowing over in laughter.

The in-between moments, in this amazing vintage-inspired silk dressing gown I found at Spina Brida. It reminded me of my late grandmother who was always dressed to the nines, even when home alone.

We opted out of having traditional bridal parties and instead had our friends stay with us at Troutbeck, a 37-room property, so we could be with them in all the in-between moments. It felt like we were at summer camp! On Saturday, I had lunch brought to my room for anyone who wanted to join, allowing our friends some time to explore the surrounding areas or hang with their partners instead of being in hair and makeup all morning. I ended up gifting them these amazing silk PJ sets by Araks, and I wore a white silk robe from La Perla that Josh had made for me with my new initials embroidered on it.

The exquisite sculptural wooden structure built from local branches and flowers. The ceremony took place in Troutbeck’s walled garden, which is this magical hidden garden surrounded by stone walls. When we saw the garden for the first time, it immediately reminded us of my childhood home, where we lived together during the pandemic, and more specifically my mom’s garden, where we got engaged.

Within our hand-painted programs, we summarized the virtues Josh and I live by, as well as the gratitude we felt for all the support provided by our parents. We recognized those who could not be there physically with us. With a quiet mind, and an open heart, their presence was felt.

I was already overwhelmed with joy, but this added a whole other level of emotion to the happiest day of my life. Since we didn’t have traditional wedding parties, we had each of our siblings, and my best friend, Chloe, walk down the aisle. And, of course, our pup, Rafi. Josh and I were accompanied by both our parents and our mothers officiated the ceremony—we thought it was fitting as they’d brought us into this world, so who better to send us off on this next chapter.
