The lovely view from my grandparents’s house in Zapallar, Chile. I have been coming to this house my entire life, and I could not have hoped for a more perfect spot for our wedding.

I love this picture of my dress in the turquoise room. I wasn’t entirely sure what kind of dress I wanted, but I was looking for something modern and elegant and this Oscar de la Renta was perfect. I could not stop thinking of it after the first time I tried it.

Having bridesmaids is not a custom in Chile, but we did want to incorporate some American traditions, so I had my sister, sister-in-law, and best friend in all white by my side.

Truman with his mother, who is helping put the final touches on his morning suit before the ceremony. Truman had his suit custom made in NY at Martin Greenfield, and it fit him beautifully.

Truman’s groomsmen were all in matching morning suits. Truman’s was slightly different in that it was a white waistcoat, but they all wore the same tie which Truman had made with their initials and our wedding date sewn on the inside—a nice memento for everyone.

My sister fastening a pearl and gold bracelet that belonged to my grandmother, who is sadly no longer with us. It was my way of having her near me on the day. On my right hand I also wore the first ring my father had given my mother, before giving her an engagement ring.

I love the pictures that our wonderful photographers Gus and Flor Hildebrandt captured in this room. The colors all look so lovely. Here you can see the back of my dress which was my favorite part.

My father seeing me in my dress for the first time. He insisted it be kept a secret from him until the day of, and I think he was pleased!

Our flower girls and boy. The younger girls had their dresses made in Paris, and we chose a light blue sash to match the interior of the church as well as the waistcoat that little Leonardo wore.

My veil was my something old. It had been worn by Truman’s grandmother at her wedding, and then Truman’s mother after that. It felt so special to have it be part of our day as well, especially since Truman’s grandmother was unable to make the trip to Chile.

In Chile, traditionally your parents sit with you at the front of the church, and we loved having them near us during the ceremony.

Here we are listening to Truman’s brother give a reading on love.

After Truman put the wedding band on my finger, the priest asked him to kiss my hand, and I had to do the same when I put Truman’s ring on his finger. We were not expecting this and you could tell from our reaction. Everyone in the church started laughing, it was a very funny moment.

Everyone lined up to wave goodbye to us before making their way to the reception.

We had an overcast day, which is unusual in the very desert-like climate of Zapallar, but it gave it all a rather romantic and mysterious aura. We liked it.

I love the angle our photographers got here, detailing my rings and Truman’s wedding band.

We had the reception in the Parque Zapallar, which is an inspired Italian garden. Our flower girls were having a great time exploring the space. As guests arrived at the park, there were peacocks on the grounds waiting to greet them—it was so magical!

Normally, you would see mountains and the ocean, but everything felt very peaceful and calm with the fog around us.

Our caterers transformed the garden into the most amazing space for our wedding, and amazingly, no one fell into the pond!

The dance floor was built around two palm trees in the garden, and we chose to paint the floor in a pattern reminiscent of French chateaus.

Guests mingling before dinner. We tried to mix the seating to ensure everyone met other guests they did not already know. It turned out to be a great success with lots of people making new friends that they have seen since the wedding.

My father gave the most wonderful, funny, and heartfelt speech after dinner. The wedding would not have been the same without the help and input of our parents, they made all the difference, and I feel so lucky to have them by my side.

The party continued until five in the morning. Here we are toward the end of the night with my amazing uncle—the life of the party himself! And the next day, we did it all over again with a New Year’s Eve party that also finished at 5:00 a.m.! It was truly a weekend to remember.
