I spotted my rehearsal dinner dress while window shopping on Madison Avenue before I was even engaged—I remember thinking it would be perfect for a rehearsal dinner someday. A few months after Sam proposed, I went to Oscar de la Renta to try it on. They had one left in the entire company, and it was my exact size. It was fate.

Sam and I took photos outside before joining our guests at cocktail hour.

I got ready for our rehearsal dinner with my sister and cousins. My sister did my makeup, which was so special.

We kept our rehearsal dinner intimate at one of our favorite restaurants, the 1770 House, with just close friends and family. Afterward, we met up with the rest of our guests at the welcome party. Friday night was the perfect way to kick off our wedding weekend.

I woke up way too early on our wedding morning—too excited to sleep. Sam and I grabbed coffee and practiced our first dance, then I met my bridesmaids, mom, and mother-in-law at the baker house to get ready. Getting ready with all my favorite women ended up being one of my favorite parts of the whole day. Every moment that morning was perfect.

Here I am moments after my mom helped me into my wedding dress. I only tried on five dresses total and went to just one appointment at Spina Bride before choosing this one. The moment I put it on, I knew I didn't need to see another dress. I used to live near Spina Bride and would walk by the boutique every day on my way home, admiring the dresses in the window. I was so excited to try on dresses at this boutique after getting engaged that I made my appointment just a few days later—which happened to be my birthday!

My first look with my dad was emotional. One of the few times that I’ve seen my dad cry.

My lily of the valley bouquet was a nod to my mom who also carried lily on the valley on her walk down the aisle on her wedding day.

I love how our dresses complement each other without matching. I wanted my mom and sister to wear something that worked with my dress while still letting each dress stand out on its own. The shimmer in each dress ties them together perfectly.

Sam got ready at the 1770 house with his groomsmen and his dad. I liked that we got ready at separate venues that were right down the street from each other so there was no chance he’d run into me in my dress we shared our private vows.

My favorite part of the day was our first look and sharing our vows privately. It was so special to have this moment together before walking down the aisle.

It felt like time stopped while we sat on that bench to share our vows.

Our dog Roux was our ringbearer.

My bridesmaids wore white dresses from Staud, partly because white is easy to coordinate and partly because I don't love being the center of attention—having them in white too felt like it shared the spotlight a bit!

My little sister was my maid of honor. I thought her dress fit the ethereal décor of our reception space perfectly.

My sister, three cousins and two sister in-laws were my bridesmaids. I wanted to keep my wedding party small and having only my family there when I was getting ready for my wedding day was important to me and helped me have a relaxing morning.

I did not give my florist much direction for my bridesmaid bouquets. I wanted them all to be a little different and I loved how they turned out.

I someone remained so calm and enjoyed every moment of the day. I think being surrounded by family helped me stay in the moment.

We worked with Alexa Pulitzer to design our invitation suit, programs and all the paper aspects of our wedding. Alexa is a New Orleans native, and Sam and I were able to fly down to NOLA to start the designing process in person. Sam and I met at Tulane, so this was such a special trip for us and was one of my favorite parts of planning our wedding.

Another photo of roux our bring bearer held by my sister. My sister and her boyfriend Will (also one of sam’s groomsmen) walked roux down the aisle.

Walking down the aisle toward Sam with my dad was one of those moments I’ll never forget. My dad and I had to walk a decent ways from the begging of the lawn to the start of the aisle, it felt like the longest walk of my life, but in a good way. I wanted to speed it up and slow It down at the same time.

My Aunt Whitney was our officiant. She’s one of our favorite people and she was the best officiant. It was perfect in every way.

The “You may kiss the bride moment!" This is one of my favorite pictures. Exactly how I imagined this moment to be.

I asked our florist to line the aisle with flowers, but I wanted it to look like wild flowers growing out of the ground. She nailed it, I thought it looked so cool.

Walking back down the aisle as husband and wife! After this moment the night seemed to move so quickly, but I did my best to pause and take it all it throughout the night to try to slow it down.

As another ode to New Orleans, we recessed from the ceremony followed by a brass band. The band played wouldn’t it be nice by the beach boys.

After the ceremony Sam and met our wedding party and family for a private toast before taking portraits with our photographer.

Sam and I took a golf cart to our reception followed by our photographers. We took the long way to have a moment to ourselves and stopped for photos along the way.

We had such a fun time designing our tablescapes with Jill (our wedding planner). I wanted the space to feel cozy and be filled with candles, looked magical after the sun set.

My mom helped us design custom napkins to give the table a personal touch! After our wedding she hand dyed all of the napkins in different colors and gave them to family members for Christmas.

I wanted our head table to feel special and I’ve always loved the simplicity of Babies Breath so I asked our florist to cover the head table in it. My goal way to keep everything simple but elegant.

Before the sun set our photographers Pat and Claire had us take portraits barefoot on the beach. These are some of my favorite photos from the night!

It had rained all week leading up to our wedding (and the week before) so I was nervous about the weather, but the skies cleared on Friday, and our wedding day was beautiful. It was the perfect June night for a stroll on the beach.

The little bow detail on my wedding dress was one of my favorite parts of the dress.

Sam and I danced to “Baby I’m yours” for our first dance. We took dance lessons weekly for a few months leading up to the wedding. The lessons paid off because we weren’t at all nervous to dance and we were able to enjoy the moment! Our band did an amazing rendition of the song.

We practiced our dance the morning of our wedding before the festivities began. We went to the park in East Hampton at 7am and danced on the basketball court which was the perfect way to start our wedding day.

My dad is a big Grateful Dead fan so I knew we’d be dancing to one of their songs for our father daughter dance. My dad chose Bird song (which apparently is a hard song for a band to pull off – according to my dad). The band killed it and my dad was thrilled.

Giggling to each other during my little sister’s speech. We couldn’t stop smiling throughout the reception.

All our guests were on the dance floor by the end of the night and we had the best time dancing together! The band kept up with our energy and no one left the dance floor until the turned on the lights and told us to head to the after party.

I wanted a classic vintage style wedding cake and it was beautiful. It was gluten free but no one could tell!

Sam’s grandparents on the dance floor! Everyone had the best time.

This was right when the reception was ending, and Sam and I were taking a moment to soak it all in. I changed into a short lace dress (also from Spina Bride!) before leaving for the afterparty. The ceiling was the best part about our reception design. The glass globe lights, and greenery tied everything together and transformed the room.

Our champagne tower to kick off the dancing!

My sister and I before leaving for the afterparty. We had mini espresso martinis passed out on the dance floor to end the night.

The band brought us on stage for their last song of the night which was so much fun.

Walking into our after party at Stephen Talkhouse. Talkhouse is one of our favorite bars in the Hamptons, we always have the best time there and wanted all our friends and family to experience a night there with us! It’s a bit of a dive bar so to seeing everyone there in black tie was hilarious.
