Just shy of three years after saying “I do” in a pink-filled Vero Beach wedding, Over The Moon Bride and lifestyle influencer Amy Littleson McNitt and Johnny McNitt welcomed their first child together, a beautiful baby girl named Molly. “Molly Elizabeth McNitt was born on her due date in October, at 3:21 p.m. in the Upper East Side in New York City,” Amy shares. “We named her Molly because it means ‘beloved’ and was the name that my parents almost used for me, so in a way it felt like it had their blessing and was always meant for my first born daughter. We chose ‘Elizabeth’ for her middle name because it means ‘God is abundance,’ and is a name she will share with some of our most favorite women, including my best friends and sister-in-law.”

And as Molly approaches the six-month-old mark, the New York City–based new mom returns to share her Dream Baby Registry with us. “Molly’s wardrobe and nursery aesthetic is garden fairy princess,” Amy explains. “Think lots of feminine pastels, floral motifs and embroidery, and precious little details on everything from monogrammed bonnets to bloomers!”

Nursery

Commit to a floral inspired color theme of tulip pinks and gentle green.

Q: How would you describe your aesthetic for the baby’s room?

My vision was for her nursery was to feel like stepping into a blooming flower. Molly’s nickname throughout my pregnancy was “Thumbelina,” for the little Disney fairy born in a flower. The emblem/symbol that we used for everything from her nursery to her baby shower was the tulip—since my own baby nursery growing up was wallpapered with tulips, and they have the sweetest meaning of love, renewal, and beauty. We leaned into a tulip theme for her nursery, along with my favorite color combination of pink and green——also a nod to our wedding decor colors!

Children’s Clothing

Invest in high-quality pieces that are plush and soft-to-the-touch so this process truly nurtures your little one.

Q: What was your process for choosing items for your Dream Baby Registry?

I spent some time poring over the many pages of Over the Moon’s baby categories to curate items that looked like precious keepsakes or were from trusted brands that came recommended to me by other moms. I found it so helpful to stick to a certain theme and motif for our nursery, baby shower, etc., to help narrow down the millions of baby items out there, so these tulip-adorned items were a no-brainer to coordinate with our girl's sweet tulip “emblem.”

Baby Essentials

Make this routine the most luxurious part of your entire day for you and baby.

As Molly approaches her first half-birthday, Amy reflects on what’s been the most exciting to discover with her daughter. “Seeing her relationship with her grandparents and aunts and uncles, discovering what she’s interested in and likes to do—since my husband and I have opposite skillsets!—showing her all of our favorite travel destinations, and hearing what her voice sounds like has been incredible.”

Amy leaves us with the best piece of advice on motherhood and pregnancy that she received: “Expect to pivot and change your mind. So much of my experience in motherhood so far has not gone according to my ‘plan’—from birth to breastfeeding. Changing things up and making new decisions, based on my baby’s health and my own, has been game-changing for me.”
