The married duo behind the luxury French baby brand in every chic nursery, Atelier Choux Paris, Daniella and Nicolas joke that their company is practically their fourth child. “We have three children ages eleven, nine, and five,” Daniella shares. “We started the company in 2016 when we were starting our family and looking for unique crib sheets with unusual prints.”

With campaigns in luxe spaces like the Ritz Paris, who wouldn’t want to know how to mimic that French je ne sais quoi when it comes to a baby registry? Thankfully, Daniella curated picks for a nursery, every day, and beyond.

Q: How would you describe your Dream Baby Registry aesthetic?

For the room, definitely pastel tones but with timeless, sophisticated furniture pieces. For the wardrobe, non-fussy, elegant pieces that are comfortable. I’m not certain how it is in other countries, but in France, a baby is expected to wear onesies and playsuits only at night, and a proper outfit during the day.

Q: What was your process for choosing items to add?

I chose products that are unique and special, that I can see staying with our family well after our children are grown. Then, I added in some high-performing functional pieces like a baby carrier and—of course—the Snoo, which we loved for our youngest.

Q: What’s an important tip you would give to expecting couples making their registries for the first time?

Mix up practical choices with a few items that are really beautiful, that you’ve chosen for yourself. It’s important to treat yourself before and during the parenting journey.

While we’re adding Atelier Choux gifts and nursery goodies to our wish lists, Daniella leaves us with her best piece of advice on motherhood and pregnancy: “Don’t arrive to pregnancy or motherhood with set expectations of how it’s going to be, as it’s such a different experience for everyone. Even from one pregnancy to the next, the experience can be dramatically different. Try relax and let each unique situation guide you. The first weeks can be overwhelming, so try line up help in advance, and call on the favor if you need it. Sleep during the day if needed and resist the urge to overextend and do housework if possible. Put your rest at a very high priority level. Breastfeeding can be tricky, and a hybrid breast-bottle approach can be perfect—your baby and your body will guide you both.” She adds, “Let each unique experience unfold without pressure. Take the time to appreciate how little your baby is, their tiny feet and hands, as this time will surely pass swiftly.”
