AvL backgammon boards are equal parts hardwood and cast resin. They’re a balance between the natural and the manufactured with raw woodgrains obscured by stripes of acrylic paint and delicate organic matter trapped in a clear resin block. The juxtaposition of these elements serves as a visual meditation on the themes of impermanence and our own relationship to the natural order, as well as an appropriately playful backdrop for, well, a game.

Product Details

The wood frames are built and finished in east London; the cast acrylic panels are fabricated in Wiltshire; the marble pieces are cut and polished in London; and the leather tumblers are made in Italy, outside Rome.

Includes one set (30 pieces) of custom-cut gray and white marble checkers, 4 dice (2 black, 2 white), handmade leather tumblers, and a doubling cube.

Features a walnut wood frame in the Worcestershire pattern with pheasant and canary feathers, a lemon emigrant butterfly, an archduke butterfly, dried and pressed Queen Anne's lace embedded in resin.

Delivered in a custom cloth case with an accompanying cloth accessories case.
