Leda Strong and Andrew Schultz’s wedding on August 2, 2025, at Valley Rock Inn in New York’s Hudson Valley felt like a love letter to summer—personal, joyful, and effortlessly elegant, with fashion shaping the tone of the entire weekend.
The couple’s story began in the most natural way. “I met Andrew through his brother, Hooper,” Leda shares. What started as a casual lunch at Fairfax—just steps from her apartment—quickly turned into a weekly ritual. “Little did we know we’d spend almost every Sunday after that eating brunch . . . until we moved into our first shared home.” After two-and-a-half years together, Andrew proposed on Martha’s Vineyard, on the same beach where Leda’s family has spent summers for years. “The weather was perfect, the sun was setting . . . and some boats in the harbor started honking their celebratory horns at us.” They celebrated with Champagne, lobster rolls, and both of their families—then chose to marry exactly one year later, on the same date.
Choosing the Hudson Valley felt especially personal. “I grew up spending weekends there, and it’s also where Andrew’s parents first lived together,” Leda explains. Valley Rock Inn stood out for its European-inspired grounds—rose gardens, hydrangea hedges, and a pool—as well as the ability to host their closest friends and family on-site. With Two Kindred Event Planners guiding the weekend, the couple leaned into a vision that felt colorful, relaxed, and full of life. “We wanted everything to feel joyful . . . like a summer gathering you never want to leave.”
Florals by Michelle Edgemont Design brought that vision to life in a way that felt organic to the setting. From the very beginning, the goal was to enhance what was already there rather than overpower it—resulting in arrangements that felt playful, layered, and perfectly in tune with the landscape.
Fashion became one of the defining elements of the weekend. To shape her looks, Leda worked with Over The Moon’s Style Director, Grace Givens, creating a wardrobe that evolved with each event. The celebrations began with a relaxed Thursday evening, where she wore a breezy Ralph Lauren runway look paired with turquoise Vicki Turbeville jewelry.
For the rehearsal dinner, set al fresco in the rose garden, she chose a custom Luisa Beccaria dress. “They created the dreamiest dress I could have imagined—flowing tulle, hand-embroidered flowers, an oversized bow on the back,” she says. Styled with Marie-Helene de Taillac earrings, the look felt romantic without trying too hard, perfectly suited to the setting.
On the wedding day, Leda wore a Sareh Nouri strapless A-line dress, layered with a lace bolero and floral veil that subtly honored the women in her family. “I loved that my bridal ensemble referenced them while still feeling entirely my own," she shares. Hair and makeup by Willow House Beauty created a polished, natural look that carried seamlessly from ceremony to reception.
Guests were welcomed with music as a violinist and pianist set the tone, and the ceremony unfolded outdoors under clear skies. As she walked down the aisle with both of her parents to “God Only Knows,” guests were surrounded by a lush, color-blocked ground meadow of florals. “I felt like the luckiest girl in the world,” she says. “Truly giddy.” Officiated by Andrew’s brother, Hooper, the ceremony included personal readings and a meaningful tribute to Leda’s late brother.
Cocktail hour followed in the garden, where guests sipped blood orange margaritas and Negronis while enjoying bites that reflected the couple’s favorite places and memories. Custom paper goods by Gabrielle Saifi Art and designs by Ali Rae added a playful, personal layer.
As guests transitioned into the sailcloth tent, the design shifted into a more immersive dinner setting. Tables were dressed with vibrant florals, fresh fruit, and custom embroidered linens by Klein Designs, each detail adding to the layered, collected feel of the evening.
For the reception, Leda transformed her ceremony look—removing the bolero and adding an oversized bow—before later changing into a custom Danielle Frankel two-piece. “I wanted something easier to move in, but still aligned with the garden party feel,” she says. The look struck that balance effortlessly.
Dinner, catered by Valley Rock Inn, featured seasonal dishes including miso black cod, New York strip steak, and truffle risotto. For dessert, the couple cut into a petite lemon cake by Lulu Cake Boutique, followed by a spread of fruit tarts and coffee.
Once the band began, the energy shifted completely. The Up All-Nighters kept the dance floor packed from start to finish. “It was nonstop,” Leda says. “We did the limbo, the trombone player did splits—it felt like everyone was fully in it.” The night ended with Leda and Andrew on stage, leading guests in a performance of “Semi-Charmed Life.” “It was the best sendoff to the after party ever.”
The celebration continued just steps away at the venue’s cantina, where guests gathered for pizza, s’mores, and late-night dancing, before closing out the weekend with a poolside brunch. For the final look, Leda wore the Honeymoon set from Waimari for Over The Moon over a white Eres bikini—an effortless finish to a thoughtfully styled weekend.
Captured by Karen Obrist, every moment—from the quiet, emotional exchanges to the high-energy dance floor—felt both intimate and vibrant. “It was a magical way to end the evening,” Leda reflects. The celebration continued with a two-week honeymoon through the South of France and Lake Garda.
