Vogue contributor and Here We Go writer Alessandra Codinha and film executive Jason Janego are expecting their first child, a little boy, later this month. We followed along with her move from the East Coast to L.A. and have long admired the former Vogue editor's style. Naturally, we couldn't wait to see how her effortless aesthetic translates to her Dream Baby Registry.
For the baby’s room and wardrobe, Alessandra already knows she wants the space to be comfortable and cheerful, with artwork by friends and soothing colors, and the fabrics to be luxurious-feeling and easily-laundered.

Alessandra has already wisely leaned on her friends for registry curation advice. “All of my friends have told me the nursery is really for you, more than the baby—who can’t see much for awhile anyways—and I guess I took that to heart, because it’s quickly becoming one of my favorite rooms in the house,” Alessandra shares. “For his clothes, I have found myself gravitating towards the classics: stripes and ginghams, blues and greens and happy, natural tones—This will not be a beige baby. I am finding I cannot resist baby shoes! Those tiny Elephantito driving moccs?! I screamed. We are definitely getting matching pairs.”
Nursery
Lightweight yet durable, touches of rattan offer style and function for a cozy, serene space.

I think the beauty of a registry is it gives people an idea of both what you need—the big ticket practical stuff, like a Nanit monitor, or a bottle sterilizer, or a glider—along with a wish list of the joy-sparking impractical stuff that you maybe don’t want to spend money on right now but would really love to receive. I was thrilled to discover Tricia Lowenfield on OTM. Her stuff is so lovely and classic, and reminds me of so many things I had as a baby—truly timeless treasures.
Care
Invest in high-quality pieces that are plush and soft-to-the-touch so this process truly nurtures your little one.

Ask a recent parent! Like anything new-baby-related, the huge amount of information out there can be so overwhelming if you let it. It’s been so helpful for me to have trusted friends share what you really need (and what they would re-list themselves) versus what you just think you need, or are having pushed to you by the algorithms.
Clothes & Other Delights
Make this routine the most luxurious part of your entire day for you and baby.
Leading with the practical—but leaving room for the other delights—Alessandra’s Dream Baby Registry is truly ready for their little one’s arrival. “We can’t wait to meet him,” she smiles.
The mama-to-be leaves us with her own short and sweet advice about pregnancy and motherhood: “Stay present, stay off Reddit(!), and enjoy the ride.”
