High school sweethearts Lauren Loveless and Nikolaus Young got engaged after seven-and-a-half years together. “Nik had my management team in on the proposal, and I was told that it was going to be a work outing!” Lauren exclaims. “I had figured out what was happening, but didn’t want to burst his bubble because I knew he had worked so hard to surprise me.” He planned a boat ride to a secluded island in South Carolina, but as they pulled up, a summer storm rolled in. “Nik walked me along the shore. As he got down on one knee, the sky opened up, and we got poured on as I said yes!”
The Charleston-based couple are getting married next month at the Kiawah Island Ocean Course, and the bride-to-be will be wearing a custom creation down the aisle.

Are there any books or interior designers that you often turn to for guidance?
I’m showing my Gen Z nature here, but Pinterest is my biggest inspiration/form of guidance! I also love the “Nancy Meyers” aesthetic where tasteful maximalism comes to play.

Q:
Can you share why you chose some of your favorite pieces?
My mom put me onto the Vitamix blender as she’s had the same one for 30 years! The Le Creuset signature line is a classic, and I’ve been eyeing the sea salt color for so long. This is another thing that my mom has preached about for years. Most people wouldn’t put a dog bowl on their dream registry, but once you see the Wedgewood ones, you won’t be able to ever forget them. Also Ranger deserves a wedding present too!

As we approach Lauren and Nik’s wedding date, she shares her best advice for others making their Over The Moon Registries: “Keep a running list! It’s hard to come up with ideas off the top of your head when sitting down to build a registry. It’s kind of like when someone asks you your favorite song, and you forget every song you’ve ever heard. It’s great to have a combined list and whenever something pops into your head, just jot it down.”
