Ahead of Her Wedding in Italy, Podcast Host Sofia Franklyn Shares Her Playful Dream Registry

By SHAYNA SEID
JANUARY 9, 2026

One year after first meeting via the matchmaking service Maclynn International, podcast host Sofia Franklyn got engaged to her fiancé while vacationing at Airelles Gordes in France. (Fun fact: Sofia and Taylor Swift share the same proposal date!) The intimate moment happened in their hotel room, followed by room service and Champagne.

Now engaged, the New York City–based couple are eye-ing this summer in Northern Italy for their I dos. And Sofia gives us a glimpse at what to expect for her fashion, saying, “I want my gowns to honor the place I'm getting married and lean into the lace fabrics associated with traditional Catholic weddings—timeless, feminine, dramatic, but still very me.”

The proposal in France; a closeup shot of Sofia’s engagement ring; a sweet moment of the couple just after they got engaged.

And while planning is underway, Sofia is sharing her Over The Moon Registry with us to help kick off our Dream Registry series for 2026. She describes her style as “playful, bold, textured, and detailed,” and notes that she draws the most inspiration from the places that she’s visited—“The Badrutts Palace hall in St. Moritz or the Jardin building by architect Isay Weinfield in West Chelsea. The new Faena hotel and the Swan Room at Nine Orchard Hotel.”

Q: What were the must-have items for your Dream Registry?

Items that will create unforgettable experiences for us, our family, and guests, a.k.a serving dishes and Champagne buckets.  Living as a single gal in my 900-square-foot apartment in the city has not lent itself to much hosting. My fiancé, on the other hand, loves it and I’m excited to make that a part of our shared life together. Must-haves include anything and everything related to entertaining and reflect us both.

Q: Can you explain why you chose a few products for your Dream Registry?

1. Caskata X Felix Doolittle Winter Wonderland Plates - He loves to ski and, after some major resistance, I now love it too. Plus, they are adorable and perfect for when we have the family together to celebrate the holidays. 2. 3-Piece Cheese Set Rustic - We don’t host people without a display of various cheeses. Obvee. 3. Christmas Ornaments - A tradition in the making. 4. Portland Small Vase in Turqouise & Pink - My decor mainly consists of candles and vases, and this piece is the vase of all vases and a total dream.

Timeless Pieces for Two

With the right homeware, entertaining couldn’t be easier—or more beautiful.

Sofia leaves us with advice for couples currently making their own Over The Moon Registries: “I'm assuming we are like many couples having a destination wedding who feel that our guests traveling to spend the special weekend with us is the greatest gift we could ask for. Yet we are surrounded by loved ones who would still like to gift us something that will memorialize this special time in all of our lives. My advice would be to have your registry reflect the union you’re creating—which, for us, means anything from the coffee machine to a charitable donation option. OTM was the perfect place to pick out such meaningful emblems of this happy time!”
