Lingua Franca is a line of sustainably-sourced, fair trade luxury ready-to-wear and cashmere pieces, all hand-stitched by women in New York City. Every word on Lingua Franca’s staple pullover sweaters is chalked in script by designer Rachelle Hruska MacPherson before it is ever stitched. The brand collaborated with the estate of the late Patmos poet Robert Lax for this collection, and the Grikos Stripe Dress in White showcases one of his poems, handwritten by Rachelle and machine-embroidered as stripes. The poem reads: “How much or what you do for others will help your consciousness evolve.” Made from 100% cotton seersucker, this maxi features herringbone tape straps with wooden bead details, side seam pockets, and is fully lined in 100% cotton.
