Lingua Franca is a line of sustainably-sourced, fair trade luxury ready-to-wear and cashmere pieces, all hand-stitched by women in New York City. Every word on Lingua Franca’s staple pullover sweaters is chalked in script by designer Rachelle Hruska MacPherson before it is ever stitched. The print on the Marcia Sarong in Ceramic is inspired by hand-painted ceramics from a traditional house in the Chora of Patmos. For this collection, the brand collaborated with the estate of the late Patmos poet Robert Lax, and this special print features his words: “What if you like to draw big flowers, but what if some sage has told you that there is nothing more beautiful, nothing more beautiful than a straight line?” The sarong is also named after Robert’s niece, Marcia, who has been instrumental in making this partnership possible. Pair it with the Reina Hoodie.
