Born and raised in Istanbul, Feyza Kemahlioglu received her master's in architecture and trained in glassblowing before starting FEYZ Studio. In each of her uniquely sculptural and refined pieces, you’ll find her profound connection to traditional Turkish craftsmanship and materials, bolstered by contemporary techniques and design. For the Oya Rattan Cake Dome, the designer worked with women in villages of Aydin, Turkey, using a traditional needle lace technique called “Oya,” wherein the needle lace flowers were traditionally sewn onto headdresses and scarves The result is a stunning cake dome that can be used indoors and out.
